About Sue

Shamanic Facilitator Through Body Work

I have a great curiosity and an enthusiasm for learning and thrive on being in the presence of those who inspire and ignite my interest, respect and passion. I have spent the last 40 years studying, experiencing, experimenting, sharing, playing, and working with like minded people. The threads I use to weave my magic come from Shamanism, Women’s Shamanism, Pilates, Movement, and the ability to read and sense peoples physical and energetic holding patterns within their bodies.

I learnt my trade slowly, I took my time to understand the physical working of the body by being an athlete and Physical Education Teacher, Lecturer at Universities and Life and Business Coach before becoming more acquainted with another reality – that of spirits allies and energy.

My spiritual development took a huge leap forward in 1999 when I was given the opportunity to nurse and help my late husband on his final journey; as a result he died with dignity whilst surrounded by love. His gift to me was ‘kicking the spiritual door wide open.’ I started by completing a year’s counselling course; followed by Reiki courses culminating in becoming a Master Reiki Practitioner. I continued on, completing a series of modules in Energy Healing, Sound Healing, and Intention Alignment whilst working closely with the North Devon Hospice. The opportunities that life brought me not only helped me to grow and evolve, but also enabled me to use my healing skills to help those with cancer and the terminally ill. I also work with those who are preparing to pass into the spirit world and with their families.

I continued my studies and completed a three-year Shamanic training with White Eagle my teacher and mentor. I have trained with The Sacred Trust, completing Drum Healing, Compassionate Depossession and Shamanic Curse Unravelling and I completed my Advanced Training which I completed in 2019.  My training has given me the opportunities to explore, play and be creative with my Shamanic calling.

My journey has led me to study many ways of healing from many extraordinary teachers. In a dream these teachings appeared as threads being woven from many different places of knowledge and wisdom yet all from the same loving, compassionate source which flowed into me and it is from that place in my heart where all the work that I do continues to be born.

About My Work

My work is multi faceted and subtly alters with every client and every session. I sense what you need and work with you to help and enable you to listen, hear, see, feel and sense what your body is holding and what it has to say to you. I act as a facilitator to help you to permit and encourage movement, flow and dialog within your body, both physically and energetically. The ideal is to be able to unravel ourselves – to find a balance in our lives that allows us to encompass and enjoy physical, emotional, mental and spiritual well-being. I will always seek to help you to connect with your body, kindly and gently with compassion and understanding; assisting you to find the knots and blocks and often the roots of your discomfort or pain. This process permits the time and the safe space that you need in order to explore, laugh, cry, and reacquaint yourself, with yourself; sometimes this will involve soul retrieval or ancestral work, whatever your body reveals. You will be impeccably held in order to work on a deep level with whatever comes to the surface.

My Shamanic Teacher, known as White Eagle said to me:

I do not stand above you nor below you, I choose to stand beside you to accompany you on your journey, please feel free to stay as long as you need.

I would like to extend the same invitation to you all – Sue

A Testimonial

Who Is Sue?

Sue is many things to many people, she is a Mum, a Pilates instructor, a Coach, a Reiki Master and more.

But more importantly Sue IS a Shaman.

Sue embarked on a Shamanic Practitioner course under my instruction and it wasn’t long before it was quite evident (and it was also confirmed by Spirit), that Sue wasn’t a Shamanic Practitioner at all. I was instructed to train her as a Shaman and that is exactly what I have done.

Over the duration of the course, Sue has walked through her own ‘gates of hell’ whilst on her own personal journey and has been able to meet all her self-created demons head-on. As each issue has risen, Sue has dealt with it confidently and appropriately. She has not only trusted me, but more importantly, she has trusted Spirit and herself to get her through it.

Sue is a beautiful soul…. her healing sessions are very professional and extremely powerful and she believes whole-heartedly in what she does. She has had a very steep learning curve which has bent her, broken her and re-moulded her into who she REALLY is!

My role in Sue’s life was not only to train her up as a Shaman, but also to prepare her to step into my shoes.

Many people call themselves a Shaman, but that doesn’t mean they are! I have trained Sue in the concepts that Jamie Sams holds as imperative to being a Shaman, they are that the person must:

  • Be able to Counsel
  • Be a Historian
  • Have a knowledge of Herbs
  • Have a gift of Prophecy
  • Be able to Teach

I have used the following information directly from the book which comes with the Jamie Sams Sacred Path Cards purely as I felt the information gave a good explanation of a Shaman for those who need it.

“A Healer is a person who is able to use the forces of Good Medicine to effect a cure in the body, mind or spirit. The Healer, or Curandero, does not use the forces of the shadow to effect cures. The Shaman on the other hand, is a healer who has gone into the underworld and has unflinchingly confronted his or her own shadow as well as the evil of others and can successfully deal with those forces of darkness equally used with those of light. A Shaman can do exorcisms..… A Shaman, as well as a Healer, can effect cures, but only the Shaman is trained in dealing with any type of black arts that may have caused illness.

Many people in today’s society are calling themselves Shamans without any knowledge of exactly what this means. If the would-be-Shaman does not have the ability to look at his or her own shadow side, this person is not meant to follow the path of a Shaman. This person would never be able to confront or handle the results and/or intentions of black shamanism…….

True Medicine People………..work quietly and with humility because they know their worth in the eyes of the Great Mystery. The opinions of others do not change the sense of Self held by a true Healer or Shaman.

A Shaman has walked up to the gates of his or her personal hell and then walked in. The self-created demons of fear, insanity, loneliness, self-importance and addictions have been confronted and conquered by the Shaman who has gone through the gamut of Shaman’s Deaths. The quality that always shines in a true Shaman is compassion for the paths that others must walk. This comes from the fact that the Shaman has also walked through the underworld of the shadow and knows first-hand the pain involved in breaking the stranglehold of inner darkness.

Shamanism is also the ability to commune with all Spirits dwelling on all levels of Creation…

The finest Shamans in our world today are those healed healers who have walked the path of death and rebirth destroying the shadows that have blocked their inner-clarity. Once a person has experienced the hard-fought road to wellness, it becomes easy to assist others in doing the same. When a Shaman can recognize the shadow inside the Self, diagnosing similar darkness in others is possible.

The willingness to confront anything in the Self that is not serving The Sacred Path to wholeness and to go through the cleansing process of Shaman’s Death is admirable.

If old Corn Stalks were not burned off and ploughed under, the soil would not be fertilized and new Corn could not grow the next year……

The duality of the Universe will evolve into the Underworld when each person is able to see both sides as equally contributing to the process of awareness.….

There are five requirements for a Seneca Medicine Person. (A Shaman not a Healer)

First, the Medicine Person must be a Counsellor. The Counsellor must have knowledge of how to assist others in using their personal talents, their personal Medicine and finding a productive life-path. The Counsellor must know how to assist a person in their gifts in relation to the Medicine Wheel of the Tribe. The Counsellor must be able to impart Traditional solutions through Tribal Law and wisdom.

Second, the Medicine Person must be a Historian of Earth Records. This includes the Creation and the first Four Worlds as well as the prophecy of the future Fifth, Sixth and Seventh Worlds.

Third, the Medicine Person must be an Herbalist/Healer. This includes knowledge of the use of healing herbs and natural healing cures that come from the Earth Mother. The Herbalist also knows the Medicine of the Creature-beings and the manner in which they assist Two-leggeds in finding spiritual or mental cures. This requirement also includes the ability to recognize and diagnose illnesses of the body, mind and spirit.

Fourth, the Medicine Person must have a personal talent or ability, the Gift of Prophecy. This means the Medicine Person must be a Seer, a Dreamer, or in some way be able to connect to the Spirit World at will, as the need may arise at any moment. This is not to say that Medicine People will not take all the time they need but rather that their training must ensure that they are able to access the needed information on cue. Clarity and focus are honed to precision until this gift is fully developed within the Seer.

Fifth, The final requirement of a true Medicine Person is the teaching of all aspects of the wisdom and knowledge to others. It is fairly obvious that such understanding would cover many years and would grow with time. The expertise of a Medicine Person must be shared for the Medicine to live and assist future generations……”

Sue now fits this description and she will continue to grow and evolve in her role as a Shaman as time goes on.

I wish her all success in moving forward on her path and trust in the knowledge that she is supported by Spirit. I will continue to be Sue’s Shaman/Mentor for as long as is necessary offering her on-going supervision as and when she requires it and life-time support.

Namaste
